It does seem like the younger chars have worse skills. *shrugs*

Believe me, Kinvoya, from my point of view it seems to be the opposite.

Neither of you is likely to have a statistically significant sampling, though.

Probabalistic fairness is such a joy, isn't it.

The random numbers for this were uniformly distributed, I expect? Might have been kinder to set for a normal distribution if so...

Do You know what really pissed me off? A char who got used to do certain thing (for almost all life) now, became a novice in it. Can you imagine?

My newest spawn is an expert in something very very cool without any attempts to practice, so no it does appear to be randomly assigned. :D

Agreed. It's random.

The only thing I don't like about it is it seems to disregard whether your chars were good at hunting/attacking AFTER hunting and attacking skills were first implemented.

I had a girl who could attack for 50 once that skill was implemented, but suddenly does less than half that.

It's very difficult to consistently RP someone if their attack value changes completely three times in their life :?

No. It's like The Industriallist wrote. Varialbe contribution speed was there before, eg. when character was hurted. So, I think it was not hard to implement.

Yes, it can piss off somebody. But it can be worse, char can be awkwardly.

Question:
In the wiki, it says that the skill increase everytime you attack is directly proportional to the amount of force you use. So, Would attacking with a longsword at full strength be the same skill increase as 100% with a waster?

I think that's the only reason the waster was implemented... if it isn't, then the waster really is a waste of time and resources.

I think there are two skills missing on the Wiki.
Repairing tools AND weapons.

Look at yourself under the people menu while working on projects. It will tell you your skill descriptor next to your age and where it tells you what you are doing.

There is already some skill which has an influence on your repairing skills. I have seen someone repairing his hammer skillfully.

And for weapons. According to Wiki there is an "attacking animals"-skill and an "attacking humans"-skill. So there are skills which influence your ability to handle a weapon. You have however the same skills for sword fighting as for archery. It would be nice if this would differ as well. The programmers would have to expand the characteristics of weapons in the database so the research department can say for every weapon whether it is a sword, a bow, throwing weapon, etc.

What I meant Doodle is that repairing weapons and tools are two seperate skills that are not mentioned at all on the Wiki...

I went to add the repair skills to wiki.

Is collecting skill not implemented yet or have they just forgotten to assign a skill for collecting mushrooms?
