Yup, agree with you on Washes demise, certainly the more shocking and unexpected, least we know Joss isn't afraid to mess with the setup, though Books was quite close, the've all been severly injured before and pulled through, but seems Books time was up, do you think we'll ever here his story now?
Funniest line? Yea that was good one, the whole "I wished I been with you" from Simon and then Kaylee's excited reply of "You mean, sex?" especially after the earlier line from Kaylee, "there been nothin' between my nether regions for months that ain't been battery powered" and Jayne's smug reply "I could do with seeing that"
Also loved some of the facial expressions from River, and the glimse of her watching Simon and Kaylee at the end.
Was also discussing with a friend the whole Reavers story, if they were "made" by the Pax, how come the survivor from Bushwacked became one? I can certainly understand him going mad after what he witnesses, but turning reaver?
Also the space battle at the end, impressive though it was, was a little on the short side and slightly bewildering, unless that's all the reavers do is just run into the enemy ship's so it would be over fairly quickly. Would have liked to have seen a bit more of Washes fancy fliying before he went.
Did you also notice the parallels between the last scene of the series and the first scene (after the title) of the film? Impressive set!
