 black knight just reminded me of BMX jousting from Jackass!

Yes domestication would be nice. That is why it has been discussed ad nauseum. But oh well. We make do with the physics we have, right? I would like very much to see dairies open up. And I hope this doesn't just go the way of the pancake, because I know a lot people out here really would like some more colorful food out there.

And have the eggings started yet? I will enjoy the first time I can participate in that!

Why would we need a new map just for a race? You could organize an IC race right now.

I'd like for a staffer to please comment on this and/or in the wiki

As of right now, eggs and milk can only be obtained by killing animals with this resource as this is the only programmable wayto introduce these resources.

Once programming is available to harvest said resources from animals without killing them then this will be changed but that is unlikely to happen anytime in the future if ever.

I'm okay with the way it currently is. I think of the animals being too hostile to get eggs and milk any other way.

As Wichita explained, we made do with what we have.

Please, don't get comfortable with the current way to obtaining eggs and milk. Upon domestication of animals, and harvesting of resources from herds, there WILL be change.

Wool will be sheered from Sheep.
Eggs will be gathered from... egg baring animals...
Milk will be acquired from... utters... of milk containing animals.

Yeah...

So, FOR NOW, this is how it's going to be done.

No complaining!

So, is that the benefit of female characters?

I prefer not to think about where my eggs and milk come from, generally.

(Greetings from Omaha, where eggs and milk abound!)

If there could be a sort of project... To collect eggs from nests, to chase down a goat and milk it instead of hit it... To chase down a sheep and shear/snip/yank? the wool off of it... I don't see water or milk requiring a bucket or bowl just so you can hold it...
I remember once, when for a very short time, it was possible to collect wool as a project. It was a resource like cotton back then... Perhaps a collecting animalstuff project could give off an amount proportional to the number of animals around and the time you spend on it... You might not find all the eggs, or chase down all the goats, but you'd still get something, at least... :)

As per the post, the first part of your request is what will be implemented.

The second half, Irony, would be very pointless to program. It would take a lot of resources to calculate the number of animals at the location, how many people are harvesting it, and all other variables, when it would be so easy to just add a button by the animal to start a project on wool. So easy.

Nifty, nifty, Anthony. Thanks. :)
Imagine... someday, they might have a special name for sheep in some areas...
The infinite wool plant that bleats.
You can farm wool from it for hours, years even, and the thing doesn't starve to death while you chase it around or hold it still to get the wool off of it. It's wool grows quickly enough for you to keep de-wooling it forever, if the project lasts long enough and the sheep doesn't get away...
