Seriously, is this board now for five year olds only? If so I'm finished commenting. I don't see anything on this thread that wouldn't be said or done in a prime time sitcom.

What exactly is the language we are supposed to be watching here, Nixit? Bitch? Are you really so sensitive at 14? That is the minimum age of the game and if younger players are on the boards (which we know they are *cough* Pie *cough*) then they are where they don't belong and will have to endure the horrifying consequences of seeing the word bitch.

Jeez.

*scratches his head* I was under the impression it was supposed to be "family friendly." I don't really care personally, but has that been changed?

I suppose it depends on who's family you're attempting to befriend. The Osmonds or the Osbournes?

Whatever.

No one will define family friendly or give guidelines. People can discuss all manner of sexual situations, endorse drug use, champion alcoholism, make countless "beaver" jokes, make homophobic, sexist and racist remarks, etc. but can't tolerate the words sh*t or f*ck. This brand of "family friendly" is too confusing for me.

I don't quite understand why the forums for a game which is supposed to be limited to people 14 and older and which sanctions the rp of graphic sex, rape, torture and murder should be geared to the sensibilities of children and only in terms of what some consider to be offensive language.

I find the forum atmosphere stiffling, repressive and dull compared to in the past. There is very little fun to be had. I'll probably rarely read it or post anymore.

moderation is nothing like it was initially - I admit things were heavy handed at first - we usually only ever step in now if things become personal or relenlessly excessive/graphic - usually informed via the 'mod request' forum

The atmosphere is far from stifling - except on the suggestions forum - tread carefully when starting threads there...

Well, then some guidelines need to be set, so it can be clear.

How about let's let common sense guide our behavior? 8)

I get tired of all the rules and nitpicking.

Everyone's so angry.

Where's Dee at? And Colonel? They were always good at reminding us all to chill.

Hey, let's not debate here.

This topic was originally about ME. Let's not get off topic, okay?!

Maybe it's in the context. "it's being a bitch" And "you're being a bitch" Are two different things.
Just because someone is 14 (in generel not pointing any fingers) doesn't mean that they are exposed to that kind of language.
I knew a guy in small school and and highschool (same guy) That never swore. NEVER. Not even substitution for swearing.
Most people would appreciate if we could all have a civilised convo without swearing because there really is no need for it. Angry people swear.
