Weather is coming in the new cantr right? Or its at least been suggested
What about other things that pertain to weather that are hazardous -life altering

Like hurricanes if you're near water
Tornados and sand storms in the dessert and on flat land
HIgh winds on mountains-avalanches- snow storms
and fires in the forest due to lightning

When weather is introduced (if it is) - Will there be differant geographic locations-

Like we in the real world have hawaii where it is always warm never reaching below sixty ever....
THe deserts will presumbaly always stay hot...
But what I mean is.....will there be places in game that never have a change in weather which are either always cold or hot? This could lead to new things too......snow ball fights....polar bears.......It could even lead to new business in game being started like resorts..lol Weather could also alter growing seasons........and health...
Weather could alter the amount of wood you get in certain places if its snowy cold-maybe raining.....you might not get so much wood because wood is not as good when its wet..

And as far as boating goes..if they were in a cold atmosphere there is bound to be ice - perhaps glaciers :O a new problem for boaters not only do they have to navigate (which has proven to be difficult at times for some) now they will have to go around glaciers...otherwise their ship hits it and sinks?

and for cars? If the roads happened to be icy perhaps it will take a while longer to get somewhere?

Characters themselves would have a new challenge........Not only would they have to learn maps and how to get to places, they'd have to learn seasons- dates- years- calenders. So they could figure out the best times to travel to avoid dangerous weather...for example...
Someone lives in blojt...for a year in blojt it is winter then it is summer for a year then fall. (i know sounds odd but its a game we can make things weird lol) But while it is winter in blojt.....for a year...it is summer in pok...for a year?

Characters would have to travel to pok and learn their weather there..as well just to know how to avoid trials in the future....to learn what time of year or life it is in pok....So that people from towns know what to expect when they are travelling...

Weather in the future could also effect the health of characters....we're introducing clothing....once weather is introduced our characters might have to have the proper clothing in order to survive right?

Just some ideas....Please add to them..lol....not set in my ideas..just thinking..

Weather would be a pretty big step to add but something I look forward to as it would link in with harvesting food meaning you gotta have storage plus lots of food anyway, what about characters would the need to say indoors to avoid losing strength because of really cold weather or hot weather or wouldn't affect them I say it should. I agree on the travelling idea but at night deserts can drop below zero so their not always really hot. Also glaciers don't really go very far out only a few hundred meters you might be thinking of pack ice which does stretch right out to sea for hundreds of kilomters, so they would be more of a danger.

We already have an idea to organise food in a way that it looks like we have some sort of different climates. But that is just an idea we can implement already in this version and which we will use for adding resources to new islands.

It would be cool if you had to hide in a building for safety from bad weather. Then people might put buildings in forests and hills and crossroads and such.

If there is weather will there also be seasons in a year so therefore effecting crops, and promoting food storage.

Seasonal emmigration

Postby oddedd » Tue Sep 30, 2003 1:09 pm

I wonder if emigration to hot places will boom during winter periods of large cities?

I don't think seasons should ever be implemented. The only people who will live are the people in large societies. The people who are just starting out all alone would die.

not if they are prepared, but if you mean new locations then isn't where makind started hot and warm? Only after we established ourselves did we move on and adapt, so people spawinging in cold places will die, but that is natural

crops

Postby g1asswa1ker » Tue Sep 30, 2003 5:48 pm

I think they should think about beable to plant crops wouldn't it be nice to take carrots from one area and plant them in a new area that doesn't have them?

the thing is, people who were born in cold climates in RL learned to adapt...maybe being born in a cold area, would make you more tolerant of cold, but less of heat, therefor you would be adaptable

If your born in an area that requires something. By 20 you should have it.

Yet another reason why spawning should stop. Full Stop. I'm happy to accept that my character was a mindless oaf until he reached 20 and started to find things out and do things like farm etc

I like the idea that a person spawned in a particular area would have adapted by the time he was 20 to the climate.

I mention transplanting before. I would like something like that because you should be able to grow some food in a forest.

Ok again. Lets just assume that all characters were 2nd sons and daughters that couldn't find a husband and so had to leave their parents to set out bythemselves doing everything from scratch.

There is always a solution that can explain any scenario.

I like te idea of everyone having to have to be born instead of spawned....it would than be possible to wipe out all female chars in a city to keep it to yourself....
