65 MILLION DOLLARS!!!!!!

Postby Snake_byte » Wed Aug 10, 2005 4:45 pm

Who else heard about the bank heist on the news? I couldn't believe it.
These people (Damnit I can't remember where!) were renting a house two blocks away from a bank.
In the basement of this house they dug a tunnel all the way to the bank and up INTO the bank vault and GOT AWAY with 65 MILLION Dollars!
FOR REAL! You don't hear about this sort of thing... It's usually in the movies or when robbing banks at gunpoint was tried a few times in the past but very few times turned out successful.
I just think it's crazy...

If I was going to rob a bank this is how I would do it. I'm more surprised at the amount of money in that bank then anything else, it must have been a really major place.

Most people who would rob a bank are too lazy for this kind of thing. That must have taken a ton of work.

The question is, will they actually get away with it? Getting the money and getting out of the immediate area is pretty good, but...

I doubt they'll get away with it.

Like you said, most who would do that are lazy, so they want a lot of money acquired with the least amount of effort. Usually what accompanies that is greed. They'll want more, which will incite them to repeat the effort or take bigger risks. Either way, they up their chances of getting caught.

There are some that do high crimes like this not out of greed or lazieness but as a challenge and excitement. Or to prove that they can do it.

It's alot easier than making that money legit. But you forget that not all theives and suchlike or lazy. These men, for example, it appears to me that they must be very hard workers, much like, say, someone moving up a company ladder or some such thing. Greedy, yes, but they not lazy.

Although, as you say, it's likely they'll be caught.

Well that depends on one thing. Their connections.
Networking. Who you know means EVERYTHING.
One man can't do it all alone. You need to know people. Peaple who can get you the equipment, people who aren't afraid or just too desperate for money to care. People who can get you out... Like fake passports and such. Not just anyone can make those. You need connection with connections.
Not just anyone with a good plan can rob a bank like that

Construction equipement is not hard to come by. Alot of companies sell it. I believe quite fervently that two people very well could have done it on their own with the help of a few bank loans.

As for connections to get them out of the country and whatnot, well, that's a different story.
