How long is a repair project 'hour'?

My luck would be that I change my iron trade value to reflect the recent smelting change and trade off several thousand grams. Then someone decides to chnage the rate back, and I am left with a huge deficit... :roll:

I did accidently start repairing both my iron shields for a character simultaneously once... that wasn't fun. No shield for days... :evil:
