Unlike the complete lock destruction that a crowbar does to an iron lock, I'd prefer if a glass bookshelf/bulletin be vulnerable to chimmying away at the glass and opening it...without breaking it. If people constantly broke it with tools, I wouldn't see many people building these items with expensive refined glass.

I think this bulliten board should basically just be a spot you can lock notes in, but have them still be viewable. Maybe copyable?

I almost wish I hadn't added that afterthought. I was going to suggest something like a bulletin board, myself (didn't notice it had allready been suggested) but in a different thread, because I see it as something quite distinct from a bookcase, and it would play a different role in the game.

I don't see why a bulletin board should be encased in glass. Notices could be tacked on, pasted on. or-what-have you. They needn't even begin their life as notes; it all depends on how the programmers implement it.
We coud have a distinct item "notice" which would be different from a note, and not so easily moveable. Either way, I expect a that something like a "vandalism project" could be designed to make it wreckable. It just wouldn't be as quick and easy as note-theft.

I'd also like it to be possible for notices and signs to be attached to buildings, and maybe even to entrances (if that isn't too difficult to code).
You know: "Joe's Bar and Grill" (to replace redundant building names, if possible), "trespasses will be prosecuted" or "please feel free to come in and look around" . It should also be possible to put a bulletin board inside a given building, or room.

It would be very nice if notes could be copied without picking them up, but that might prove too much of a headache for the programming department, as it would require quite a fundamental change to the way things operate, now. (could you lot in the programming department please comment?). If so, I suppose we'll just have to settle for being able to choose between making something copyable and fixing it in place. Just having that much choice would be a big improvement.

You beat me to that, I was just about to post that idea.

Plus having this a one button project, might take the strain out of going to the objects page, clicking on picking up the note, looking into your inventory, copying it, dropping and going back to the objects page. Instead, just going to the objects page and making a copy from there, which goes to your inventory would be oh so helpful.

Since we will be having books now, I think also having bookshelves is important
