How will that change anything? If I have RPed them being deadly with a crossbow for 30 years, trading a sabre for no apparent reason seems wrong.

The randomly assigned skills are the worst thing. I can accept my pacifists being weak through lack of practice (which they all are) but my warriors?

I have never been this depressed over Cantr. And if anyone patronises me again any time soon, I am likely to require censoring.

Cantr's gone hunting crazy! Everyones at it! Happily most of my charries seen to be either experts or efficient.. Although backing up surly's point, i've seen some older and incredibly well equipped charries scoring novice or awkward.. Not sure if i agree with that...

Kinvoya, my point is that there is no point to RP.

I have tried to RP them as well as I can for 30 years... and now it turns out all that RP was wrong.

I wonder, would Toast be as strong as he rolepleyed? I would guess not.

I am sorry about those people who do RP with mine... I just don't have any passion for it right now. I'm sure I'll adapt, I just need to learn the painful lesson - "ultimately everything is pointless"

Out of my five chars I've got one "expertly" one "skillfully" and one "efficiently". There's two I can't check yet because one already hunted today and the others in a place where it's not legal right now. (I know the one who already hunted sucks though, six damage with a primitive bow.)

It definitely does sound like Surly got screwed though, and seems like a lot of other older characters did too. To be honest I'm wondering if all characters currently older than thirty or forty should maybe get some kind of little bonus to their skills. (to go along with the 'age equals power' trend in Cantr, and for realism, since they've been practicing much, much longer.)

Yea, True. But on the other hand a senile, cripppled, half retarded 70 year old lady isnt gonna be very powerful

But Cantrians don't necessarily age like we do. At least I've never seen any senile older characters...most of the ones who make it that long are singlehandedly running towns.

Even my newspawn sucks... :(

EDIT: He's 25. That's a newspawn compared to my other 14 characters...

Really? That isn't in the Wiki...as far as I can tell, anyway.

They may suck now, and have stats that directly contradict how I have RPed them for 30 Cantr years... but I will not condemn them to death.

The combat change is doing that for me...

This is not true as of yet.
