Ever considered applying for jobs in ProgD or RD, Surly? Money-where-your-mouth-is kind of thing?

Yes.

But until I sort my current dispute with the PD, its not worth it.

I actually wrote out an RD application this afternoon. I might send it, depending.

As for the ProgD... Unfortunately I can't program... :( I wish I could, I really do. :(

Me too. Had a nice long talk with Jos today and I think I'm going to apply for a few new departments.

Unfortunately ProgD isn't one of them, as I'm pretty useless...one year of BASIC six years ago does not a programmer make.

I'd love to be able to put my money where my mouth is... but that decision isn't mine to make.

I wish a PD member would answer my question...

1. The staff member. Those who fit the bill for staff membership, and make decisions that other staff members like. This leads to the lack of thought apparent in many prog changes, the result of no objective view.

2. The anti-christ (a.k.a. Nick). The players who are the opposite of the 'staff member' Much hatred here... most of it undeserved, both ways.

3. The player. Those who don't participate in the staff-senior player politics. Both those newspawns who don't know anything, and the experienced player who avoids the forums and other players ooc.

Sound anywhere near right?

Pretty good list, but I was in Resources and Advertising at one time and I can safely say that very few abuse whatever "power" they have over the game. Much more abuse arises from players having chars on both sides of a conflict.

There are many ways to abuse.

I don't think many conciously abuse their power. That's not what I meant. But I don't think they are particularly objective...
