I agree. One can't be expected to walk outside and immediatly know how many peole are there unless there are only a few.

I disagree. Cantrians are obviously very adept at counting, being able to tell exactly how much of any given thing they have (down to the gram) and tell exactly how much they're carrying. It's not far-fetched at all to have them be able to tell exactly how many people are outside at a given time.

Yep. I agree with West.

Anyway, its not like vague numbers will actually change anything... it just means people have to manually count. And that would not be a popular change...

Why change something so minor? Just leave it be...

Then how are you supposed to tell if someone is inside a building you were in or not, unless you constantly look at the people page?

You many not know the number, but you would know if someone was standing there (most of the time.) And you would be able to say 3 if you saw 3.

For the large numbers, I agree it would be impossible for someone to guess every single time they came outside that there was 87 people. However, it isn't uncommon for someone to guess that there's approximately 80, when they see 87.
I hate people.

Idiot savants can do it. For whatever reason, they're able to do things with that part of the brain that we're not. Who says cantrians can't do it too?

Somehow this feels like its going to turn into another Cantrian physics debate... :?

I just think this is not needed. Not needed, and not wanted enough to justify.

Just a warning... us players seem to have an unmatched ability to moan about changes after they happen having been silent beforehand. This could be one of those backlashes...

I don't like this suggestion. Please don't implement it. It will only lead to even more tedious tasks for the players.

Isn't it too late to argue?

/cheer west

As much as I'd like to say he said everything I intended to... I can't claim any argument quite that eloquent. Mine's more the whiny "I have several characters that need to know exactly how many people are somewhere at any given time, and if you make me count 87 people on the people page manually, I'm going to start stabbing them."

So, to summarize, boo vagueness, yay numbers.

I don't want the number removed either. If you don't like it there, ignore the number. However, I prefer to know.
