You should change the events menu
Instead of having all things reported on one screen. You should have Occurences of the day. Things said to all. And things said to you.
Because a lot of times people don't really see all the things said to them. They just see a bunch of other irrelevant stuff.

No no. I'm saying let's say someone hits you. Well if it's a busy town, and you're scrolling through what everyone is doing and saying. You may not catch it. But if you have a personal matters section of events where if someone talked to you it went under that page, or if someone hit you it went under that page. A public chat page where the things people say to everyone is registered. And a other events page where you would see someone stealing or walking someone, I think it would make it easier.

Well what I was reffering to was you have all the events reported. But then for a sub option you could see personal events and all of that other stuff. You don't need to make those events in a different section they could all be under events. Just put under sub-menu's.
So yeah don't change the events page. Just add some sub-menu's.

I think it would be cool if there would be an option that hides people coming and going, people whispering to others than you, knocking, eating raports and projects finished, leaving only talking, pointing and attacking. I don't know about hunting, that's on the limit. The default would still be show all, but you could switch on to this mode temporarily.
Or actually, why not make it customizable? Give you an options page that gives you checkboxes for everything, if you want to play blind for example then you could remove the messages that start with you see, and if you play deaf then you could hide knocking. But naturally hiding talking wouldn't make much sense since a part of it is rp.
Maybe it would reset every time you log out since it would be silly if you forgot it on and was wondering why ain't this project advancing, only to realize you got project messages switched off and you don't see the "you don't have the right tools to work on this project" message. But it would be useful for copying events when you want to ignore some of the stuff, like whispers, people leaving and so on.

Code: Select all
Do you want to receive a notice on the following?
[X] People talking to you
[X] Talking in general
[ ] People whispering to each other
[X] You entering and leaving locations
[ ] Others entering and leaving the location
[X] Attacks against you
[X] Attacks against others
[ ] Hunting

[X] Items given to you

Agreed...
There should be a separate window, perhaps a java pop up window, that exclusively shows the interactions and conversations which pertain only to you. I have only been playing for a few days, and I see the events pages getting really really long. It's quite an eye strain to scroll down through hundreds of lines of text looking for things which are pertinant to you.
A java pop up would work wonders!

Well there is a thread in the "Accepted Suggestions" Forum that is similiar to this idea. I think that since this one has already been accepted, this one won't be... http://www.cantr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=132
