The two islands you refer to are easily traversed. It would be very simple to move a note from LFe to Hills of Hilloi.

Yeah but I probably think it was some naked kid dying on his 21 birthday like the most of them. If there is an ingame explanation then my character would be very interested in those notes, after all they are related to death, but if they are there only because some jerk keeps notes on the wrong account then I can't react to them can I? Besides the character has never heard about those places before.

There's a note in Lake Village named "OOC Comment". Indeed, it does contain an OOC comment.

There's another note in Quillanoi (south), labeled "My first day.", with a few references to "playing the game" and OOC stuff...

But there's been a fair amount of travel between the islands (at least recently) so it's not ENTIRELY out of the question that those notes are legit, unlike, say an AJS note in Blojt.

It's still illegal unless there is a reference to the original author. And that wouldn't look too good.

I always make it a point to give credit to the author or creator, should I ever end up using there work. Not so much for liabilities purposes, but more because I hate to see people take credit for the work of others.

I suppose if one were ever recreating a note using things such as poetry from outside Cantr, and it made sense, that just adding (OCC: Such and such was in fact actully written by so and so and not myself) would suffice, no?

Would suffice, legally.

Would still look bad, IMO. Be creative, people! Don't steal artwork, or writing.

There have been several instances of Cantr players filking...that is, taking old OOC poems and such, and changing them slightly to reflect cantr. Or Star Wars, or whatever the filk is for. I've seen poems like that in cantr.

Indeed.

Just like those commies in Karnon Forest, of whom I've heard so much about.

K Isle Map?

Postby Talapus » Thu Jun 02, 2005 9:23 pm

One of my charies found the Dust map of the K Island in Quill Forest (South). And it almost certainly doesn't belong there, especially as it dropped from a guy in his twenties who also had notes that were written in L33T such as:

lmao d00d plz stop sh00ting @ me w/ur bo

It makes me think that it was just a really dumb newspawn copying notes. Will these notes be removed, or should I take them and stick them in an envelope where they will never see the light of day again?

I hate them because they beat me too it.

No, but really, that's just not original, is all.

I've created an ideology, and I didn't need help from Marx or Lenin. You can do it too.
