Naming characters you meet.

Postby Sandra » Tue Dec 26, 2006 12:09 pm

Is it possible to get a warning when you have given a character a name which is to long?

I try to keep them short, but occasionally I still name a char (who a char of mine meets) to long. And I just don't count when I'm in the middle of some event.
As a result the change button dissapears and text on the event page turns orange, like it is all clickable.

It would be great if we could get a warning and then be given a second change to rename the char, without the "change name" button dissapearing.

Fine ... but moved to General Support as the Bug Reports forum is staff only - this isn't really that sensitive ;) ... but I agree it should be addressed

If you want a second chance always try using your backspace key.

If anyone has Dreamweaver this could be done in about thirty seconds, just add a text length validation before the data is sent to the database to avoid this, then Dreamweaver will automatically display a warning message saying the name is too long

Thanks for your responses.

The backspace key, is that the button to go back a page? I have tried that also. But I have a slow connection, so by the time I am back a page I suppose it is already stored in the database, cause it still keeps the name and the change button is still gone.

deadboy are you talking to the programmers? cause I am not going to download another program just to play this game.

I hope it will be addresses, so I don't have to keep bugging you. :)
PS. Chris, I have send you a PM, as I did it again.
