Apologies if this has been suggested before.
I'd like to see a change to the way the resource gathering ticks are processed. If I decide to gather 1 gram with 100 repeats, I would like to see cantr process however many grams could normally be gathered during the time between ticks (it currently processes 1 gram only when this is done).
So I am suggesting the resource gathering tick should process repeats between ticks, not just the gathering amount.
This has a couple of positives that I can see:
- Gathering projects can always be cancelled rather than having to be completed (because they have always been finished to the last repeat)
- If a project is left uncompleted by the initiator, the initiator loses only the grams since the last tick, rather than the entire amount
Thoughts?

No. I'm suggesting the ticks still process whenever they process. I just mean when they process, they should be smart enough to process repeats at the same time if you set a smaller amount than could be gathered in one set period - ie 1 gram. It should know to process 10 repeats of 1 gram in one tick, if you could normally gather 10grams in one tick period..
Hope I explained that better..

In that case everyone would just start farming for 1 gram with a million repeats to avoid losing anything because they want to micromanage and not risk having their project stop at 99% and end up having to use a whole hour for the last 1%... I suggested earlier that if finishing a project took less than one hour, the progress you could have made with the rest of the time would carry over to the next project you work on... although if the next project also took less than an hour, technically a person could keep storing up progress and end up finishing some larger project in one hour. That wouldn't be good.
Also there was a suggestion (I think by Jos himself) for replacing resource gathering projects with a resource gathering activity, so it could be finished any time and you'd get resources out of it and you wouldn't have to know in advance how much you're planning to gather.

Hmm. I don't like your first suggestion because it could be abused so easily.. but the second is the other alternative. I assume my suggestion would be less work though, and setting a million repeats is never an issue, because the project can always be cancelled (because it's always finished to the end of a repeat at all times).
