Murdered Body Descriptions
In the descriptions of dead bodies, it currently says something along the lines of "His death seems to have been caused by steel broadsword"
Really? And people can tell exactly what weapon inflicted the damage just by staring at it?
My suggestion is for generalisations based upon the weapon type. For example:
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by a swinging weapon" (Axe- type weapons)
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by a strike from a long-bladed weapon" (Swords and Sabres)
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by a short-bladed weapon at close range" (Daggers)
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by a projectile fired from a distance" (Bows)
This way it's also more interesting from a roleplay perspective that if you didn't see the action take place, then all you have is the marks on the body. And it doesn't really make for good fun if 5 people in the town have swords or sabres. Yet you know exactly who did it cos you've identified it to be a steel broadsword which only one person has.

I like it... but I think axes would cut in a very similar way as a very large sword... such that:
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by a heavy, bladed weapon" (Axe/bastard sword type weapons)
Mind you, you would still be able to positively identify certain weapons.
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by blunt force trauma" (clubs)
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by a deep puncture wound" (pickaxe)
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by rows of shallow cuts" (bagh-nakh)
"His wounds suggest his death has been caused by several shallow lacerations" (whip)
etc etc

Well half the idea was so that you couldn't tell exactly what weapon caused it. And the catalyst was seeing a body that had been 'killed by a diamond encrusted steel sabre'. That's just ridiculous, how can anyone tell that the sabre has diamonds in it by looking at the wound?

Axe makes a shortish but deep wound whereas a sword makes a long cut... unless it's used for stabbing. Hmm...
I wish projectile weapons would leave projectiles behind, and you could pick them up or leave them there, but then they would have to be manufactured separately and I think that suggestion was rejected.

My point was that an axe and a really heavy (ie bastard/great) sword would both cause disgustingly large and deep wounds... not too easy for just anyone to tell apart...
Maybe add a skill "corrination" that changes what it tells you depending on your skill level. Where an expert really could tell by the roughness/cleaness of the cut weather or not it had been encrusted... while Awkward would simply say that it's dead.

I know its moving off the initial idea a bit...but would like to see this added on live characters aswell with aging of wounds on the char page (you see a man in his twenties he has: old shallow lacerations, recent shallow lacerations, brand new blunt force trauma (someone caught someone having a kinky affair eh?)
But disregarding that...I like this idea

Lying in the depths of your imagination, worlds above and worlds below, you can tell a man from what he has to say
