Search Engine for the Clothing Menu
It's starting to get a bit cluttered in there and dividing it to categories has been suggested, but that only means more clicking when you're browsing through the options. Often you're not sure exactly what you want to make, only something that's available with your resources.
So, my suggestion. We make a list which includes all the resources used in clothing projects, and make a list with checkboxes next to each resource. They'd be sorted by how big their usage is, (things like rubies and pearls would naturally be in the bottom of the list). You can select which resources you wish to use and the search would return only those things where requirements are met.
The list would go like
cotton cloth
hemp cloth
silk cloth
wool cloth
wool yarn
small bones
large bones
wood
iron
copper
nickel
gold
silver
diamonds
...
etc, etc.
(Ok it's rather long but it wouldn't take as much space when divided into columns.) That way you could ignore cotton on an all-hemp island or the other way around.

Or am I the only one who thinks that way? I have a couple of tailor characters and they're often at a loss of what to do next even though material is rather unlimited. If I weren't in RD, I wouldn't even notice when new options are added.

This could, I think, be a part of the RD database interface - a system that would allow easy access to all item construction and use data - that has been in process for ages.
So I like this idea because it seems that it could be the starting base for the rest of the system.

I intend to program as soon as possible (next week?) a system that allows you to browse through that information automatically, inside the game. So the very technical information - what resources are there, what they used for, how long does it take to dig them, what machines produce what - will be made available soon enough.

Maybe some "search" button in clothing menu to search by resource type? Like i would like to know what clothings are requiring wool yarn. I press search "wool yarn" and i get list of all clothings which requires wool yarn... Not only wool yarn, but as one of requirements... Or add possibility to search not by body location category, but by main resource category, like wool, hemp, hide, leather...

Suggestion on how to use the Wiki, for you tailors.
So, let's say you have wool yarn. Go to the cantr wiki page, type wool yarn in the search box and you will get to the appropriate page. Now look on the left side of the page, under "toolbox" for a link called "What links here". Click it to get a list of all the pages that reference wool yarn. Most of them are items of clothing that us wool yarn.

I'm with Seko on this one...
If my character has hide and some spare time he will look at the hide and think what can I do with that.... recent additions like headbands have been missed by my charracters for example..
I guess an easier way is to reogranise the clothing by resource rather than type eg instead of trousers skirts etc. try wool, leather....
Surely you could be able to choose which way it is displayed (eg two buttons) This wouldn't require tick boxes and masses of programming (I foolishly assume)
*hoping that makes sense*

But that would require someone to add in the new things. That someone being me or Mael since no one else seems to care. And I'm not doing it, and I doubt he is either.
EDIT: Scratch that, I have been doing it for a while. The recent database changes page really helps a lot.
