Well to start off with I am the lightest sleeper besides my daughter and she is 9.
If I don't hear the alarms going off then everyone in the house is late.! My son has an alarm clock. Well to start off he has 6 alarms on his phone alone and an actual clock alarm that won't wake him up.
Then in my room I have an alarm clock, and two cell phones with 3 alarms on them each so that is 6 alarms going off in the morning and it still won't wake me. And it doesn't matter what time I go to bed either. It really sucks!
I wish I had that problem..
Every night before I fall asleep I have to check the clock to make sure it works and is set just right, and on top of that I wake up early to make sure my alarm clock is working.

I have two alarm clocks - an alarm clock and my phone, each set to go off within five minutes of one another. I also tend to wake up a few minutes before either one goes off, simply because I don't trust phones and my other alarm clock is also a dodgy piece of crap. Heck, if it's a day I can't afford to miss, one that's been stressing me out, I'll wake myself up every hour on the hour like clockwork, roll over, count how many minutes I have left to sleep, then doze back off.

I have three alarms, one that has a lamp go on gradually and then it beeps when it's fully illuminated, I usually don't remember hearing that. Then there's one regular alarm clock and my cell phone alarm. Currently the cell phone alarm is 5 minutes before the bus leaves, I just came to notice that it's enough if I get dressed after the second alarm and just put my outdoors clothes on when it rings, but if I only start dressing up completely when that goes off, it's not enough.

I ended up finding an alarm sound clip and then setting a scheduled task to loop it every morning until I close the program. I can turn my speakers up much louder than an alarm clock, and the concentration required to type in a password to close it is more effective at waking me up than reaching over and pressing a button.

Psychologically if you think hard enough about waking up at a certain time or about your alarm clock set for a certain time to go of you SHOULD be able to wake up before this time.
I've done this a few times myself but it takes a lot of effort and can cause a lacking in sleep as you've to SERIOUSLY think about waking up before you even rest your head on the pillow.
