More milk, and also they seem to decline faster than other species in the one area I can see when we are all hunting as normal, though it is admittedly a small sample. But, the fact that we could consider restricting hunting of any species to preserve an animal resource on Aki is a little strange. Maybe you can give milk to one of the others there? Antelope?

The fact that you're killing them so easily is somewhat unexpected, since they're supposed to be as tough as or tougher than normal buffalo. However, the population is growing quite healthily across the island. Is your location fairly isolated (say, two roads to it?) That could account for a slowness of repopulation by migration.
Unfortunately, I can't really look into it right now. With the server all messed up again, it took me literally all day just to respond to this post, so accessing the database is a non-starter. I'll investigate as soon as it's possible.
I'd like to hear from more folks with characters on the island.

Well, in my location animalpopulation is farily high, and me and my friend have a building there that we can go in and out of. Animals justlike my character though, while they love attacking his friend. Other than that, they are just alittle hard to kill.
When you hope for something, you often believe in something. When you believe in something, you often have pride in it. Being proud often leads to a hating of some group.

I was able to check this now and they are as strong as cows, which are half as strong as buffalo, leading to the ease of killing. I should have changed this from the outset. My assumption then is that milk wasn't an issue before because of a large number of cows. Giving the water buffalo their intended toughness will compound a lower number of available animals with making them harder to kill. If it was just numbers, my instinct would be leave it as-is and force characters to hunt in other locations (since, as I said, the population is growing island-wide). Being both, however, I can't really come up with any argument against adding milk to the antelope or another animal.

You think we should leave a town we've lived in over 20 years, that has resources that are valuable to us, to hunt a road or two away on a dangerous barely inhabited island because you've removed one of our important animal resources?
You have already impacted the established culture on that island, without enough care. We want more milk back, and it's your job to put it there. This isn't your choice, Doug.

Change happens Sanchez. Shai no longer has chitin, or any animals for that matter. Demanding that Doug maintains the status quo is silly (considering that his job is to change animals and the animal system). That said, adding milk and other interesting resources to more animals is not unreasonable, and I am sure Doug will at least consider it.

I did that quite a long time ago, and they most likely will never be repopulated with animals. The administration is aware of this and has acknowledged that it's a necessary evil. The animal cap is too low and the number of locations is far too high. If we're sufficiently below the cap when I'm done with my preliminary assignments, I'd much rather add extra animals to places that have established settlements and would benefit from them than deserted islands.

I have a leader on Aki actually. In my place I see the cheetahs and lion s are becoming aggresive. Very. Lets hope we don't die as I don't think we have a source of healing.
...
Yeah. My place doesn't have a source of healing, does it. Tomatoes are far off since the roads are long and we have no good vehicles. Plus we're in a forest (but food isn't a problem since well... the past kills amassed quite a bit of it).
I'll check if I have healing foods at my location when we can log in again.
