Famous Unoriginal Character Names

Postby Doug R. » Sat Apr 07, 2007 12:06 pm

This thread is to post characters with unoriginal names that have become more famous (or infamous) to you than their real-life namesake.

I'll start:

Jules Verne - Much more famous to me as a Senator from Karnon than as an early science fiction writer.

John Locke – Ranger that was much more important to a few of my characters than the English philosopher.

Tommy Lee – Leader of a forest near Blojt that influenced one of my characters much more than the former Motley Crue drummer did in my life.

Kiefer Sutherland – A ranger that was friends with one of my characters – I admit I have never even seen the TV series 24. I was too busy playing Cantr II.

He's been upstaged because I watch "Lost."

I'd have to say John Locke, but it's a bit of a gray area as I'm not too sure which I learnt first, the Cantr character or the Philosopher...

I have to be honest, reading all of these, I recognize quite a few, and I just think the real people are far more famous to me. Come on now, Jesus Christ? I think the only one that I really would say is true for me is Keifer Sutherland, due to the fact that I don't watch the show.

Racetyme, the one who posted Jesus Christ, I don't think he understood the point of the topic.

I didn't even know Keifer Sutherland was an actor until 2 years or so ago.
I thought Keifer Sutherland was a strange name to have as a character, too.

Keifer has been an actor for a while now... did Cowboy Way, Young Guns 1&2, and The Lost Boys. All four were fairly decent movies... maybe not YG 2, but The Lost Boys was a GREAT vampire movie based down near me in Santa Clarita I think.... they just changed the name.

Ohh... and he was also Athos in the Three Musketeers. ummm... I grew up on movies ok :P

What does the real Rosa Luxemburg do? I've never heard about her...
