Since suggestions are open again, here are a few I thought of. Many are animals that hang out around the sea, since beaches are currently populated with things like zebras, bears, and sheep
Tarantula (like a scaled down scarab. A little chitin, and easier to kill)
Seal (gotta club those babies for those nice coats )
Sea Lion (more meat animals that would actually live on a beach, unlike all those that currently do)
Walrus (ivory!)
Bison (like a buffalo, but with fur!)
Warthog (like a wild hog, but with tusk!)
Fox (there are already many fur animals, but this one is too good to pass up)
Crab (lives on beaches and has shell. Can replace scarabs in some places)
