Repairing

Postby mtm21 » Sun Mar 05, 2006 2:04 pm

Repairing an equipment should only deteriate if it is used on a project. Like for example, if you make a wooden shield with a hammer. Then after the hammer has been used it moves down the deteriation process. If you get hit with a weapon and you use your shield in defence. It should take a few blows before it starts to deteriate. If you have an equipment in your inventory you never use but will in the future, it will stay brand new until used. I dont know if anyone would like this idea but it is only a little change than what is done with repairing now.:)

I partially agree on that one.
I think there should be natural degradation (either if the item was used or not) and usage degradation.

Essentially everyone agrees that it would be better for degradation to be based on use. That's what was meant back when item degradation was the pet suggestion of several of the regulars on the forum and a favored idea for many more. Unfortunately it wasn't implemented that way, I believe because it would be a lot more complicated to code.

In other words, this is not a new complaint - read the old threads that came up when degradation was first added.

Degradation is based on use and time. So are suggesting that we get rid of degradation over time and keep only use or are you suggesting that have degradation due use in general? Because degradation due to use is already a reality in game. Or it is already planned to be.

I wasn't aware use-based degradation had been implemented. But I believe that time-based degradation should be either eliminated or reduced to a tenth of the use-based rate.

And that would be another suggestion, Sho, with it's own thread. But anyways, Use Degradation, even if not fully implemented, is there and will be in game.

It wasn't intended to be a suggestion, just a response to your question.
