renaming
It would be nice to be able to change the name of a building or vehicle back its original name after you have changed it into something else. Maybe <CANTR OBJECTDESC> or <CANTR DESC>.
There are some buildings I have renamed and I would like to be able to change it back.

Displaying the type of building could be an option but this infomation is readily available to characters already.
The longer term plan is to remove the default names of buildings, vehicles and roads, as was done with places. We are ready to do this but want to ensure various other features have been implemenetd such as signage and established for a while before we turn them off.
So such a feature for name would only be useful for a short(ish) time - Once the names are turned off then the old name will be "unknown building" or "unknown bike" etc. Its unlikely we would implement this for that reason

Ok, so when names of objects will be turned off? I wanted to suggest it but now I see, that is waiting for approval. I see no reason to keep the names. You won't have signage and other stuff established if buildings will keep their names.

I don't see a need for as long a delay as 200 days. What was originally promised was a month or two. The planned implementation of Building and vehicle amnesia has been no secret, at least to users of the forum, people have had a long time to get ready for this
Dynamic building names are stored and won't be lost - it's only going to be for the buildings your characters haven't yet named at the time of implementation.
With regard timing this has probably bubbled reasonably high up ProgD's list - I'd expect signage to be implemented in a month or two .
