Drugs

Drugs would make an interesting addition to Cantr. For example, steroids would be drugs that give you a MASSIVE strength boost, but leave you with all intellectual skills at zip for twice the length of the strength effect. There could be similar drugs for tiredness, damage, etc. etc.

Ideas? Comments? Criticisms? Spelling corrections? Killer death machines? Oppurtunities to ignore Pie?

What intellectual skills? I guess you could count... sewing... cooking... um... that's it, as intellectual skills.

No, no drugs. Maybe herbal medicine, but no drugs.

Maybe if we throw in the threat of ODing? And a restriction on all intellectual skills, even remotely so. Fighting requires a knowledge of offensive and defensive patterns your enemy is likely to take. You're unlikely to remember these while high and get killed. Herbal medicines sound good, too, though.

This has been suggested multiple times, and I will say again that this is a stupid idea.

edit: if you dislike my blunt answer, I probably went into more detail in one of the other times somebody suggested this

I have to say.... Drugs are a good posobility, We alredy have the Drunkenis bar ready, so... why not a few drugs? And.... were going to implument alcohol anyway.

Just to say to you, Drugs would be good for 3 reasons.
1) More trading, trading of the drug, trading of things to get the drugs, things to buy the drugs with, and things to cook chikens in.

2)a boost in the echenomics of cantr, cawsed by the trading of the drugs and drug ingrediants, and the creation of companys to manufacter the drugs.

3) It might cous somthing like a legalasation law, and thus cousing a large manufacturing of weapons, the creation of many intelegence agensys, and, ORGANISED CRIME!!!!


Ok, just to tell you, 1 is the most lickly to happen, 2 a little less lickley, 3 would be cool, but it's a bit even less lickly.

Only if its implumented right.

Maybe drugs could mess with the fommatting of the text. randomly inserting text colors, marquees, flashing, etc.

It'd be so frigging annoying, no one would do drugs.

This is still a stupid idea. I've seen too many characters that act like thier players are on drugs to want them in game as well
Reality was never my strong point.

Yeah, in real life it may be "beneficial" to the drug user's opinion, but how could be beneficial in Cantr II if it's nothing but ruining your gameplay? Sure, it could add a little variety to your character, but other than that, it's pretty dumb.

I guess drugs could have no function at all, but I guess it would be still dumb that it's there, since it would make a excuse for newbies to become suicidal.
