I know there is already a like thread on this but my idea is slightly different than the other one and warrants a new thread.

So now with skills in place, I think when two people work on the same project that requires a skill than the person with the lower skill has double the skill experience rate from the original because when you work with someone more skillfull than yourself you learn things faster.

So lets say there is someone expertly working on smoking meat and another person joins him and she only works awkwardly at smoking the meat. So while she is working with the expertly skilled fellow her skill experience for smoking meat is double that it would be if she worked alone or someone as good or worse than herself. She would continue to increase at this rate until she is as good or better than the fellow at smoking meat.

It can also work in a way, where different levels have different rates.

For example;

A person working novicely can increase a person working awkwardly by 15%.

So it can work this way;
Awkwardly to Awkwardly = 0%
Awkwardly to Novicely = 15%
Awkwardly to Effienctly = 20%
Awkwardly to Skillful = 35%
Awkwardly to Expertly = 50%
Novicely to Novicely = 0%
Novicely to Efficiently = 15%
Novicely to Skillful = 20%
Novicely to Expertly = 35%
Efficiently to Efficiently = 0%
Efficiently to Skillful = 15%
Efficiently to Expertly = 20%
Skillful to Skillful = 0%
Skillful to Expertly = 15%
Expertly to Expertly = 0%

I think this is a good idea, it is a shame that it wont work for hunting or fighting, which seems to be what everyone is practicing.

There is a way.

Obviously every time you fight someone better than you, you learn something. So instead of fighting someone at full strength, fight them on a different strength level and it can work in the same way as two people working on a project.

Hunting would be the only difficult part but I think hunting and combat should be one in the same as far as skills go.

I was thinking about something like this - working on a project with someone with better skills than you should help to improve your skills...

I'm playing bar stool programmer here - but I'm guessing current skill improvement works along the lines of totalling up how long your character works on a certain type of project and converting the time worked into an addition to the skill level. So, this could be added on by increasing the addition by a certain factor depending on the skill level of any other participants. Although, if skill increase only happens upon the completion of the project, the assistant would probably have to also participate during the completion of the project.
