Something should really be done about coke

This sounds so ludicrous that i still think i may have got this wrong.

1)You use a few kilo's of stone and some hard labour to make a coke oven.

2)You then go and gather coal and wood

3)You then use the coal and wood in the oven to make char-coal. Which diminishes in weight obviously

4)Now this is the real bane, when you use coal/charcoal to refine iron ore, it takes more charcoal than it would coal to make the same amount of iron, so why the hell would anyone use there more efficient coal to make less efficient charcoal at the same time burn a load of precious wood in the the process!!

Does this make sense !

Hmmmm i may be getting mixed up in coke and char-coal, this may be a big boo-boo

A simple mistake. Coke is made from wood and coal, but it cannot be used to make iron (at least currently), and I believe it has not been implemented yet. Charcoal comes from a different source then coke ovens.

People use Charcoal when coal is not readily available or they live where a different resource is around. But yes, coke needs to be implemented.
