Unwanted Landmarks

Postby kinvoya » Tue Jun 14, 2005 6:38 pm

A newspawn in my char's town built a landmark that says the town has a different name than it really has. Then he died.

Is there anything that can be done about this? Can the landmark be removed? If so I will give the details.

Thanks

Can't you just change the name? Do landmarks have the ability to be dynamically named?

That would kind of defeat the point of a landmark, methinks.

True, true. I didn't think that one through all the way....

But there should be a way to change the wording or take down the landmark...

With a chisel, maybe? Or a sledgehammer to take it down?

Or rather a carving knife. Bone knives are too basic.

It's made from stone and, apparently, will last almost forever. My char will build a friggin' sledgehammer and spend a year knocking it down if that's what it takes.

Can someone with a solution please answer this?

:(

My sign is now 'used'...odd...anyway, I'd like to know if I can repair it.

Why would you not be able to repair it?

And yes, destruction of objects in Cantr should someday be implemented .... ;)

Landmarks don't appear to be reparable. They are not objects that can be picked up in order to be repaired.

Yes, I don't think the repair button is there for anvils either.

Neither can houses be picked up, but I've seen plenty of houses undergoing repair IRL. Why should picking things up be a prequesite?

There really ought to be a means of demolishing unwanted stuff, not just landmarks. One annoying thing about Cantr is that you're stuck with your mistakes, and everybody else's mistakes too.
