Alternative tiredness strategy
Instead of having to worry about getting rest why doesn't the game assume as a default that normal life and working on projects includes 8 hours of sleep per day. So the whole issue of sleeping could be ignored. Then an option could be included that if people needed something in a hurry they could specify round the clock operations which would spped up production but have a severe penalty in tiredness. This would seem to be more they way we operate in real life...

You mean, takiing things back to how they used to be before everything started going to hell, and maybe adding a smallish feature to let you work faster in bursts?
I'd be happy with that at this point, since I really wouldn't have minded if cantr just stopped evolving at a pre-tiredness stage...but tiredness is implemented, and it does (or did) have some upsides; I seriously doubt removing it is going to get any consideration.
Of course, I'm feeling fatalistic...I don't think that those on high will believe that there's anything wrong with anything.

To be sure, tiredness was *not* implement to make chars spend a lot of time sleeping, and I know that's not the most interesting feature of the game. It was implemented for mainly two reasons: (1) to get a slightly more 'natural' way of avoiding that one man is as strong as a whole army when attacking people and (2) to make buildings and furniture more useful. Now we can have a hotel and inn businesses and meetings where chairs are used, etc.
The balance is still not very good with tiredness, I guess. Especially the daily automatic decrease is not high enough. I'll work on that.
