If I Were to Get Rid of Some Characters...
Would they know that they are going to die soon, so they can make preparations? Or would that be a CR breach? I really hope that's not the case because I don't want all of their stuff to fall on the ground for some worthless thief to steal.

If you purposely killed your chars and make their items available to another of your chars it would be a CR breach. Its the same as passing items between your chars. The only way you could do it is through a third party if your chars know each other and if they are friends.
Its a breach to kill your own chars anyway... think of what emotions normal people go through to want to kill themselves... surely none of your chars feel that way? Just thinking about it is a bit of a breach as you aren't roleplaying properly! I wouldn't kill myself to make my friend better off? Would you?

No one was saying anything about killing them to benefit someone else, whether the other character is from the same player or not.
The question is whether characters about to suffer OOC ailments know what's coming. I've always thought that they do.

TheTheorist: Don't accuse me of breaching the CR by killing my characters, I simply do not have the time I used to have to play all 15 of them. And who said I was going to give their items to another one of my characters? I have no intention of doing that.
Oh, and btw, who do I need to email about removing some characters? I sent a note to players@cantr.net like it says on the department page and it got sent back saying it couldn't be delivered.
So, could I or couldn't I hand all of the character's belongings to a friend of theirs or someone they know, played by someone else, before they die?

You can send me a private messege here on the forum Sarah, if your messege didn't go through to the PD mail, and it will get handled just the same.
I think it's important to be realistic. Perhaps some of your characters would sense they were going to die. It's up to you to decide if they would or not. Of course, the items as stated previously shouldn't go to someone else for ooc reasons and certainly not a character already belonging to you.

The point I was making is that seeing as there isn't illness programmed into the game characters should not even think there was any way of them becoming ill or about to die?
The only way they could die is if they treat themselves badly by starving themselves or self harming, I was just pointing out how realistic that would be... but yes I suppose if they decided they were going to end their life they would decide where their possessions went before they died.
I must have got the wrong end of the stick before. I do that a lot. Sorry.
If my characters knew they were going to die they'd probably do something crazy, well some of them would go quietly... but most of them wouldn't
