or, How to Cut Back on Game Play Without Quitting

You gotta give yourself some time for real life, or else this game will take over your life. Which is bad!

So, what suggestions do you have to limit your game time and not have Cantr take over your life?

A few of the ways I've done it:
1) Stop spawning new characters.
2) Convert some existing characters into hermits by moving them out to unpopulated places and settling them alone. Lone survival can be fun! (* But generally doesn't take a lot of time.)
3) Have some of your characters do road work - preferably out in the wilderness. You're working to improve the game and you can always return that character back to a populated area when time frees up.
4) Lock your characters away inside from time to time when you need time.

Of course - it's hard to do some of these things. The lure of participating MORE in Cantr is strong.

You can always binge watch a series or anime. Or cry about how you're never going to be able to forget this game.
You say: "*dramatically falls on the cot, curling up and screeching* *what is it doing is it crying what*"

Except that I play Cantr while watching TV, so... not helpful. :D

This thread is for anyone who would like some help with setting limits for playing too much.

Personally, I've already cut back a lot. This is what I've done, very similar to what Hyrle is doing.

1) Only have two active and one semi-active characters.
2) No more newspawns.
3) Will kill off two, idle sleepers. I haven't checked them in months.
4) All other characters are hermits or sleep-working sims.
5) Avoid active towns and islands.
6) If hermits get killed, then w/e.

Something I've been considering, asking PD to cull your unwanted for you, and then give you a time limit of like, six months or something before you can spawn new ones.
My problem is largely that when I have nothing else going on, IRL or IG, I have the bad habit of creating new characters. I can't seem to stop myself.
So if you're a compulsive spawner, that could help.
