Town Leader Gender Bias?
Maybe it's just chance for my characters, but of all the town and group leaders I've met there's been a very large bias towards them being female. Off the top of my head I can think of thirteen towns/groups with a clear-cut single leader, eleven of whom are female, and three towns with two people who share leadership roughly evenly as far as I can tell, with with four of those six half-leaders being female. So all in all less than a quarter* of the town leaders I can identify are male, and less than a fifth** of town leader power I can see is held by guys.
And yet if I recall correctly there's an overall bias of male characters over female ones.
Is anyone seeing the same, or something different? Any theories why? On the one hand I don't see how it could have arisen or why it would matter, but on the other that's a pretty huge gap.
*(2+2)/(13+(2x3))=~21%
**((0.5x2)+(1x2))/(13+3)=~19%
(I've also noticed tendencies for newspawns to arrive in flurries of up to maybe six or seven in a few days followed by years without a single one, but that's not something I can so easily get stats about. If anyone has an idea on that one though I'd be interested to know.)

Re: Town Leader Gender Bias?
As far as I have been seeing Cantr world (And I have not yet seen many places) it's for me way more female sentenced.. About 6/7 have female char in charge. I would think this is because females are more active ones on these towns so naturally they will easier climb up while men tend to be pretty passive ones or not interested to take responsibilities..
Oh yes and usually females tend to be old (+50) while men tend to be younger though some expections exist but I would guess longer you play more changes are that you can be leader

I think the age thing is a very good point - there are more guys around but they die younger. And now to find a reason for that...
As to Wiro's suggestion, I'd been under the impression getting to town leader position was more about being some balance of old and wakeful relative to everyone else when the previous leader dies or leaves, and now I'll never look at a town leader the same way again :/ But surely the only person you could sleep with to become town leader would be the town leader, in which case the position is already occupied?

Males seem to be usually more into fighting and that sort of things and also from newspawns males tend to be ones to go wander off way more than female ones (Hmm who knows why) Cannot say how many will survive but once left they are out from getting to leader anyway.
I would also make note that females are better at manipulating than males, thus easier to rise in power. Overally I would say that females tend to be more wakefully and way more males sleep than from females

I was about to add that most characters are female, too. It's funny that most players will probably agree that it feels that way often. Yet the statistics don't lie:
SekoETC wrote:Male characters living: 3107
Female characters living: 1679
So 35 % are female.

What? Yes I have seen towns with 20 males and 1 females but then again so many times it's 7 females and 1 male on town..
I think this is mostly this because we can have 15 chars and if even 10 players have 15 chars that's 150 chars already.. Looking numbers I have to wonder how many are wake then..

Are those statistics based off all language groups, or English alone?

Re: Town Leader Gender Bias?
There's less than 1500 characters in the English language group. Currently, total character count is 4394 of which nearly half are Polish.

Mine include only one non-English town, apparently Seko's are universal.
Currently my characters are all in fairly well balanced places gender-wise but when there is a bias in overall population it tends to be towards the guys.

Re: Town Leader Gender Bias?
So it is entirely possible that the English language group does have more female than male characters? Which could explain a fair bit of the gender bias.

I suppose it is possible, though I've no idea why that would happen.

Statistics today:
English players = 200
Polish players = 247
(As far as I remember, the polish language group always was the biggest)
And I think that is all about the age of the characters (and not the number); I know more old female characters than male characters (both in english and spanish group, I don't know so well the others). And why could be this? Just because the oldest players decided to did more female characters (and maintain them); maybe it was just lucky, maybe their female characters spawned in places with "more interesting" roleplay.
I sincerely believe that the characters gender doesn't affect into the "leadership" thing; no matter if you have a female or male character, only matter the personality and activity of them.
Because otherwise, It would mean that we as players are importing roles from the real life to the game. In real life women and men roles have always been guided by two conditions: reproduction and physical strength; in Cantr there is no reproduction and both males and females has the same chances to spawn with the same skills and strength. So, there should not be predisposed roles or differences based on gender.
Edit: Also, It is a fact that players tend to do higher percentage of characters of their own gender; so maybe there are more "old players" females than males in the game.

Re: Town Leader Gender Bias?
Polish seems to be very large group.. Largest towns can easily have 30-70 people (Now if I just would speak polish, I would love to live there) while most english ones are rather small or maximun is 20
