Weather System

Was just wondering if the weather is only viewable from a distance.
I mean are they only described to users as:

"Thunder and lightning can be seen in the distance. "?

Or are there messages like

"There is thunder and lightning in your immediate area. "?

The answer to that is no. It was game wide for certain language groups.
