How do you make stuff?
I want to make stuff from scratch, chop my own wood, pick my own cotton, mine my own ores etc. Is there a page that tells you how to do that and what you need?

It contains a lot of technical information about the game.
As for gathering materials, each location has different natural resources. You find these under the "locations" tab while outside.
