spawning amid wrong language group: bug or...?
I thought the way "people-centric" spawning worked was that for a spawn point to exist there had to be at least two people of a language group there. Is that not correct? I spawned an Esperanto character in an area where there were only three other people total, two of them Spanish. The third person didn't speak before I left and had no character description (also holding nothing in his hand, wearing nothing worth mentioning, not working on a project, presumably a still-birth), so I don't know what language group the third guy is from. Even assuming the third guy was an Esperantist, he alone shouldn't have been enough to spawn a new Esperanto character, should he?
There were no buildings in this place so no one was hiding in a building. No one was hiding in a ship either since this place was landlocked. Does this spawning algorithm take into account nearby people on the road, or is it running on some sort of delay, such that my spawn-parent might have left the area shortly before I appeared?

I believe that it's something like if two have been present within 12 hours or something that you can spawn there. So they could have passed through, or died and been buried. Or, some of the Spanish actually are not playing the language they chose to spawn with. It could be any of those things.
Don't quote me on the 12 hour thing, someone more well versed will have to answer you, but hopefully this does to answer your question at least a bit until then.

My guess would be that esperanto have fixed locations of spawn.

Re: spawning amid wrong language group: bug or...?
There was a bug a while back when people spawned in odd locations. I myself spawned one Swedish char in the Spanish area and one in Nraam on Teragotha. I'm not sure if it's related, maybe the same problem still exist?
Ps. Esperanto does not have fixed spawning locations.

Trojo, PM me the details of your location. If you're the only one there, we can look at getting your language changed.

Well, I think now that I can take care of this character in-game. A Spanish-speaking character gave me some food and pointed to a road that will get me closer to an Esperanto enclave. Thanks, though.

This isn't about wrong language group but I couldn't find a better topic to post
I was wondering if there is any way to shut down dynamic spawning for Turkish characters. Because we have new players and sometimes their characters are spawning in the middle of nothing. For example, they are just popping up when two characters are just passing through an empty town, or when they dock to somewhere. This is being very difficult for those characters to survive, and for those players to like and learn the game.

This has been done in the past and could be arranged, if there is a consensus among the Turkish players.
Pretty in pink.

This idea has come from another player and I agree. We can talk to other players too. What should we do to show you the consensus?

The chance of spawning in an empty town for the reasons you specify is really low. Daily the spawn locations are calculted and thus there are between 6 and less cantr hours available to spawn in a location someone just left. It shouldn't be a huge problem, merely something that happens now and then.

Re: spawning amid wrong language group: bug or...?
The town they spawned isn't empty at that moment.
For example, my character stops in a town, he/she may be gathering something or may be sleeping when the newspawn spawns (Sometimes my characters sleep more than 1 day). My char doesn't live there and has to leave in a few days. The newspawn doesn't even know how to travel, he doesn't have any weapon, any shield, any food and there are lots of wild animals around.
At this point my char has to do babysitting to the newspawn because he is a new player otherwise he will die.
I can simply ignore him and leave him to death but then he won't like cantr because only thing he has seen in the game is nothing but a few resources, animals and a man/woman.

Re: spawning amid wrong language group: bug or...?
If the Turks, as a group, see this as a problem, I will support turning on fixed-spawning for a time. It's really simple to do, and has been done before, as Piscator said. The only reason the Turkish weren't included the first time around is because we had no Turks on staff and no contacts within the Turkish community.
-You need to show us you have a consensus. This would involve a public discussion on your forum. As the Turkish LD member, it would be up to you to summarize the discussion in both English and Turkish and let us know when you've posted that.
-The Turkish community would need to mutually agree upon a number of fixed spawnpoints.
-We would need to discuss and agree as to what end-goal needs to be met before we return to dynamic spawning.
