I'm not entirely sure this is the correct forum, but it appears most relevant.
I am doing a bit of planning in relation to a future character, and I am stuck. On the wiki, when it says that machinery/equipment can be built outside, or only in buildings, does this include ships/water vehicles, or is this literally just outside in towns or in buildings. Also, do "buildings" include things such as ship cabins, or buildings/rooms that are buildable on ships?
I'm looking at things like dessicators and apothecary tables if it is relevant to getting a correct reply/varies dependant on what object it is.
Many thanks in advance.

I think the wiki is pretty specific in these cases. If it says building, then it's in a building. If it says the name of a ship, it can be built on a ship...
These are examples:

Can look at this as well

Take a look at the page of the "extra buildings" on a ship.
http://wiki.cantr.net/index.php/Large_cargo_hold
it gives a specail category for items which cannot be build on a ship. But read for your self.
