Error: invalid server response

I'm not sure why that is, but I might recommend to try right-clicking the icon, clicking "log out," re-entering your login credentials, and logging in again.

If the error still occurs after that, there's a way to get more information, but I'll need to check some things on Windows before telling you how; so I'll post some further instructions later, if the error is still happening.

Wolfsong, are you trying to use CS1 or 2? If you're trying to use 1 there's a newer version that Rebma pointed out to me. Disregard this post if you're trying to use 2.

Please do the following, then:

  1. Close any existing instance of CantrSpy (right-click tray icon > Exit).
  2. Right-click any shortcut to CantrSpy, either on your desktop or start menu (or create a shortcut to CantrSpy.exe for this purpose, if there is none) and select Properties.
  3. Append " -- trace" to the Target of the shortcut, including space before and after "--", excluding quotes given here, but including any quotes in the original Target, then select Ok; like so:

  4. Start CantrSpy using this shortcut and a window titled "CantrSpy - Trace" should appear. Wait until the error condition occurs, then copy and paste the contents of this window (or take a screenshot of them) and send them to me. Your password is RSA-encrypted in the output there, so it is secure, but if you want to keep your user ID and possibly also your character names secret, you can send it to me by PM and/or remove them from the text.

I would kill a man for a way to use this on my phone.

I mean it too. Send me the name and photo of the man you'd like killed.

If your phone is running Android, Navi has created an Android version of CantrSpy, here http://forum.cantr.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22945, which hopefully still works. If not, talk to Navi about that.

If your phone runs iOS (e.g. by consequence of being an iPhone), that will be harder, because of the restrictions Apple imposes on publication of iOS apps. I'm not aware of an existing iOS version of CantrSpy, but one could be created if the users were willing to root their devices, or if someone has an iOS developer license or was willing to buy one -- and to commit the time to developing and maintaining it (edit: it might be possible to publish AIR apps to iOS, but the license issue would still apply).

If your phone runs some other operating system, it's relatively unlikely it will be easy to do that, but it depends.

Neat! No idea that existed, I'll see if I can make it work.

Navi's spy hasn't worked on my android devices in a long time, sadly.

For a while now, CantrSpy hasn't updated automatically, and I have to update for events manually. Actually I don't mind it that much because it causes me to check the game less often, but I was wondering if this is happening to everybody or just me?
