In my mind, Cantr artwork would have three main attributes:
- * The images, when uploaded and hosted on the server, would be tied to the notes they were originally attached to, much like items in an inventory are tied to the character that has them. Linking the image in another note would produce an error, similar to hotlinking protection on certain websites.
* The notes would not display the Copy this Note button.
* All images would be watermarked in the corner after upload and that portion, or whole image, links to the Character Description page of the character that uploaded the image.
To further explain, you would create a new note, upload the image you want, and before uploading it, you are presented with two options: Cannot be copied or used in other notes (ex: paintings, drawings) OR Can be copied or used in other notes (ex: maps, logos, etc.). When you find a work of art, you'd click on the watermark to see who made it. If you didn't know the character, it would show <unknown>. If you did, it would show as being made by that character. Age, inventory, and attributes would not be shown.
You could always upload a forgery, but anyone who knew the original artist would know that it was fake. Similarly, authenticity would be up for debate if no one knew the original artist, like in real life.
A possible problem I would see is that it could be used as a signature in a document, defeating the use of wax seals (not entirely sure how they work anyway).
