Change of email address

Postby Razorlance » Fri Mar 20, 2009 1:19 pm

I recently amended my email address on my profile and I think I should have got an email with a validation code, except I haven't. Is this process automated or does someone on the staff need to send me one?

Which profile, your game profile or your forum profile? What do you need a validation code for - you're obviously still posting to the forum. I guess I don't understand your problem.

It's my game profile, which I assume is used to send my turn reports to. When I changed it is said I had to enter a validation code, and there is a validation code box on my game profile now, next to my old and new email addresses. So again I assumed I would receive an email with a validation code that I'd need to enter to validate the email address.

Didn't know that. I just tried it and got my validation instantly. Did you check your spam? If it disappeared, you'll probably have to wait a week for it to expire an then try again.

Right, so it's just me then. :( I'll check my settings, but I've been getting all my other emails okay. And you think there is a time limit of a week? that should just about be up now, I hope.

Yes, the validation code is only good for a week, and then it expires.

Thanks Doug, it just expired so I tried it again and it worked straight away as you described, so I don't know what happened the first time.
