Abandoned Projects

Postby Ash » Fri Feb 20, 2004 8:33 pm

I think that we should be able to delete abandoned projects, regardless of the amount of work that has been done on them. It is a big issue in some places, and just damn right annoying.

The only problem would be people maliciously deleting projects.

Perhaps a time limit (would have to be several years to allow for travel)

It would be great to have a way to get rid of them but...

I kinda like it... A large city with a lot of projects like that looks like a mess while one that has pratically none looks ordered.

There is not much trash in the game and this is the only kind of garbage collection.

But to get rid of them...

For resources... No projects at all. Just a list of things you want to get and the game updates your inventory whenever it has time. No common projects for resources. But maybe an automatic give to other. There would have to be a screen to make it easy to see who is in the limestone quarry and who is just getting carrots at the moment. Maybe messages when people move between resource type. I mean it should be obvious. BUt that gets back to someone guarding rather than working and observation.

For everything else an example would be easier.

A building 25,000 grams of stone safe for 20 days.
Day 21: You can remove 250 grams per turn (1% of 25,000)
Day 22: You can remove 500 grams per turn (2%)
Day 23: You can remove 750 grams per turn (3%)
etc.
For anything you remove you only get back half in usable grams.

I wish it was as easy to implement as to write about.

Bunches of places. The old yahoo boards, even.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.
