Cantr almost burned my house down earlier today...

Postby David » Tue Feb 17, 2004 4:02 am

Luckily my internal timer went off...

I was making some rice to eat earlier today and had put it on the simmer stage in the pot and sat down in the living room and flipped through the T.V.... then came to my Bedroom and lo-and-behold the Cantr screen was on.... as I started interacting with some of my characters it dawned on me that HEY! I never ate the rice I was steaming, and HEY! I never took the rice off the stove... AND THAT HEY I NEVER TURNED OFF THE STOVE! I guess my internal timer was working right to alert me because I got to it after the clock timer went off, but the rice wasn't burnt on the bottom of the pot, and none of that discusting rice snot that boiles over the pot if left on to long and melts on to the cooktop was there... and it tasted OK... a little more mushy than usualy, but ok... a lot better then the hard rice that we have to eat in Cantr...

In all honesty had I not jumped up the house probably wouldn't have burnt down but I would have had a big rice water mess to clean up and no lunch...

Cantr once bent my mind to the point where the fire alarm went off and rather than getting out of bed and leaving, I was thinking "I'll just log in later and respond"

lol...I've done that with the phone before, be sitting here and hear it ring and think "I can get it later", then I realize and jump up to grab it just before the answering machine kicks in.
