Listening at Doors

This is a bit of a random suggestion, and it doesn't address any important issues with the game, but I though it might offer some food for thought.

It should be possible to create a project, similar to resting, whereby one is listening at a certain door. The person eavesdropping should be visible to anybody outside (it should show on their description, and an event should be sent out when they start). If anybody enters or leaves the building the eavesdropping should stop, and the person entering or leaving made aware of who is eavesdropping.

While eavesdropping, a character will be paying attention to what they are doing, so they will recieve a vehicle-like filter on events in the location they are eavesdropping from, but will be able to hear people talking aloud inside the building. A maximum of 3 people can eavesdrop a one door, and nobody can eavesdrop while there is a lock breaking or building project happening on their side of the door.

Possible additions to this suggestion could be:
  • The person eavesdropping can only distinguish the sex and possibly the age of any person who speaks
  • Any person who enters the location will be immediately notified if they can see anybody eavesdropping (the same should really go for breaking locks)

I had a similiar idea for a tool a while back.
I forgot the name of it, though.

I'd love to see this idea in. :)

Is this a two-way thing? Can someone inside a building eavesdrop on outside events?
Like the "Windows" suggestion, it makes those inside a building less isolated.
But, and excuse the vagueness,) there was some other suggestion which produced the comment that you can't have a project with no output. Did this get resolved?

It turned out that it wasn't so, resting don't have any output.

About the suggestion, I like it :)
