Smelly baskets

Smelly baskets

Searched for it, some partially related suggestions, but none concrete in this sense.

The idea would be to add a movable item, a basket, that when filled with certain aromatic things it would spread its smell so anyone entering the place would notice it.

Things that could go in the basket:
    flowers
    raw fish
    spices
    herbs
    mushrooms
    vegetables
    salted/dried foods

These baskets would act either as personal parfums, be decorative, set the mood of a location, or advertise typical market products,

When entering, the character would notice something like "There's a strong smell of daisies, mushrooms and pineapples." The baskets would be not extremely easy to fill, so players aren't smelling things everywhere, and also the character should remember the last baskets he smelled so they aren't displayed again.

Well I suggested that characters should poop and vomit to make prisons more disgusting but no one listened to me...

I don't think it would make sense to have several different things in the basket, especially if you're going to advertise what you got for sale since if you had to fetch fillers from other islands... that doesn't seem very logical. Or it follows this Cantr logic that lets not use local ingredients because then everyone could make them, let's go searching for something half a world away.

It would be nice to have smells in Cantr though. If it could be calculated by what the character is carrying and wearing and what they have done lately it would get kinda interesting. Like if you killed an animal, you would smell of animals for a bit. Farmers would smell of earth. Fishers would smell of fish. Killers would smell of blood. Smokers would smell of smoke (and people who carry lots of smoked meat). Leather carriers would smell of leather. And so on.
