Latin Char

Postby bmartes » Mon Dec 18, 2006 7:10 am

I can't make a latin char. Is this a feature or a bug?

Cheers.

Latin area hasn't been opened yet because it hasn't been translated enough. Plus there's like one Latin player because the ones who promised to play have most likely quit after the translation works stopped progressing. Trage was supposed to translate it but he quit, so I don't know who's doing it now.

Yeah, unless you can find a translator and a few players, the Latin area will stay closed. The idea is nice, though.

One might also want to look into something called simplified Latin. I read about it, but now couldn't find the source. Not that there is a lack of similar constructed languages, though :)

Oh, and while looking for this, I stumbled on this newspaper in Latin :)

Well, absolute worst-case scenario: if someone can point me to some cheap or free, yet still effective learning resources, I could probably slave over it in my spare time and make myself at least quasi-fluent within half a year...and voila! you got yourself a fairly non-sucky translator. Just a thought.

Junesun teaches Latin ;) ... sprachprofi.de, I think, but the site is getting slightly outdated. Anyway, she should answer, not me, but check with her ;) ...

I think a good idea would be to get a good book that teaches Latin.
I'd like to start a char in Latin, it would be an opportunity to get the thumb out and start learning the language.
