So I guess my habit of yelling at other motorists will transfer to my progeny...

I hate being 3000 miles away from home. A very special woman to me, is in the hospital, and not doing so well.. I so want to be there but I made the choice to be here (needed the job) now I cannot be there with my family.

But seriously, how did we get blacklisted? Might be something programming should look into.

Seems Cantr is blacklisted by:

spam.dnsbl.sorbs.net
blackholes.five-ten-sg.com

Maybe your company got a keyword hit on your computer. Scary that they might be monitoring you like that.

Well that's possible. though I do make sure I don't rp or say anything sexual in cantr when I was online there. but yes they log lots it seems. Also Hotmail messages I send. Neither can I access twitter for being offensive lol. I don;t care about that. That was just a link from a newsarticle. I think for a few weeks I could access Cantr and then suddenly I couldn't. Though yes it might be something I typed that made it be blocked as I was checking cantr and then suddenly it was blocked.

Or something somebody else might have typed.

Cantr is blocked at my school for "contain[ing] lifestyle contents" and being a game.
The forums are blocked for the same reason.
And so was DragCave, last time I tried.

Oh, and they've also blocked my mobile device from connecting to the WiFi there because of some new policy they put up dealing with "computers unregistered with the system" and I need "[...] County authorization to register a new computer" and a bunch of that kind of crap. It's the reason I couldn't print out some sheet music from my laptop a few weeks ago and why our quartet didn't get to do curtain call at the concert tonight.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

So, Christmas I mean Winter concert (we're not allowed to call it "Christmas" or say "Merry Christmas" here because it might offend somebody who doesn't celebrate it) tonight was amazing. Or at least, that's what my parents told me. lol But a bunch of other band members think so too, so I'm satisfied.

That being said, our band director is probably going to come in to class tomorrow and rave about everything that went wrong in our concert, saying something about our worst performance. Or maybe that rule only applies to marching season. I dunno, who cares.

I've never understood the whole marching band thing. I get orchestras and stage bands, but putting funny clothes on people and making them carry their instruments around on a sports field, playing the same old stuff over and over, typically "band" versions of popular songs...It's beyond me. They usually don't even sound that good (you may have 15 different instruments, but really, I can only hear 4 of them tops. The girl with the violin - poster child for futility). At Penn, during the halftime show, some guy tells really bad jokes over the loudspeaker as the band makes designs on the field. The jokes are so bad, I usually don't get them, that is, if I can even understand what he's saying. Why do sports teams need bands anyway? They can play cooler music over the PA during touchdowns.

@Snick - do you guys really enjoy marching around and suffering from heat stroke, or is it just some tortuous right of passage you must endure on the road towards getting a music education? I mean, jocks and bandos are diametrically opposed on the social totem pole, so I find it strange that you would enjoy "supporting" the sports teams with all their flush coffers, while the school systematically cuts arts programs.

This isn't a value judgement, just something I never understood. It's not intended to be taken offensively.

I'm really getting pissed off with names having to be changed like Christmas or that in some countries Santa clause can't say: Ho Ho Ho... If people get offended by it, it's their problem. I don't see them changing names of their religion's holidays or special days. Why should we? I mean isn't it so that we should all accept each other's religion? For me It's Christmas and always will be Christmas, and if I can't say it , I will still say it. It's just sad it;'s even an issue. Don't people have anything better to do?

Yeah. I wondered about that, too. To me wishing "Merry/happy/good/etc XY" always seemed more like an attempt to share one's own good mood with others than an actual wish that the adressed person joins the celebration. I wonder how one could be offended by that.

There is no "war on Christmas." Stop watching Fox News, and you will be happier.

It's the same with the main airport here, they hardly decorated it for Christmas not to offend people of other religions. While journalists asked many people of other religions. And they rather had that it was decorated as it was pretty. And it's never right to sacrifice your healthy fun traditions for others.

Well, you haven't seen the flipside -- the "sitting hockey team". You see, they get their fun by being in a classroom, sitting on chairs, passing a puck to one another....
