Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
The rules are that if the value is over 45 euros, you need to pay taxes. If it's over 150 euros, you also need to pay a tariff. It's $75 or at least that's what she wrote on it. It doesn't matter if it's under the 150 euros, you still need to declare it because it's over 45. To declare it online I would need to know what's inside and they didn't write it on the letter, so this is fucking difficult. I feel tempted to just give up and send it back but I wonder if she'd be offended.

Just explain to her what the situation is, and she'll probably never be honest on the declaration form again.
Also, I'm confused as to why the need to know what it is if they already know the value.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
The online declaration form requires listing what's inside and including some damn codes for each item. It didn't even ask about the value, it might do that later on but I couldn't get past that stage since it was saying if you don't know the code, you should call the customs and clarify it with them instead of throwing a guess. And it's saying you should have a document of value, if you don't have one, ask the sender to send you one. So what, did she keep the receipts? It's bloody embarrassing having to ask the exact value and contents of a gift. Of course no one knew about the limits.
On another topic, I still have no knowledge of a summer job. Since I generally need to pay rent before my student benefit comes to my account, it means I need to have 290 euros sitting on my bank account for almost a month each month and I can't use it. I just calculated that with what I have and what I get, just paying the rent for six months would leave me with 6 euros to live the next five months. Not 6 euros a month or 6 euros a day, 6 euros for the whole time. Naturally I'm getting financial aid from my parents but this is ridiculous.

So much for having a day out by the seaside with P on Mothering Sunday.
It's pouring down over here, and we are pretty much stuck at home. At least we had a good play and a lovely chat, and I am content with that. She also made a card for me at school, which I happily put on display.
To every mother out there, Happy Mothering Sunday (back home we celebrate that in May, might be a better time to go to the seaside then

We got a house to rent, and we get to move in to the garage over the next few weeks, then on May 1st actually move into the house....I am super excited, but there is soooo much to do! I hate moving. Thank goodness we signed a 2 year lease, so we won't have to go through this process again. We have 4 kids, so it is a PROCESS to move. But...we finally got a house! woo-hoo!

My over-active curiosity is killing me. Is there more information on his posted somewhere?

I've said it in passing a few times, its another cantrian, but not one on the forums. Hence why I can obsess and not have them find me weird.

I drove somewhere while there were many very large and wet snowflakes making it hard to see. While I was there, it rained a lot and puddles were built up. While I drove home, it hailed, covering the road witih little balls of ice. When I got to my house, it was barely even drizzling.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
I meant to post this earlier (I'm not used to this Macintosh computer):
My family left on Friday for a trip that lasts until Tuesday I think, all except for me (out of the 11 who live here). My younger siblings have spring break while I don't, and there's pets to watch.
I admit, having no one else here is nice..plus, it means that I can have my church group (people 18 to 30 years old) come to my house on Monday.

Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
Sometimes, I feel sorta like a super creeper. I have a thing for origins stories, generally how they pertain to superheroes and such, but lately, how they apply to couples as well.
It started just because people like to tell me stuff and in conversation with a married person, how they met their spouse would always come up somehow. It's gotten to where it's like a hobby/interest of mine, to collect stories of how people met their spouses.
So far, the funniest one is, by far, this lady who met her husband in a bar when some random guy grabbed her ass and she
turned around to deck him. She's, like, 5ft tall so really this is funnier if you know her. xD
And, the superhero origin thing is not weird.... It's just- it's not weird!
In other rants in attempt to distract, I could really use a drink after this weekend. Just sayin'. *sighs* Anyone wanna meet up for drinks, like, for serious? lol

CN, sorry....think it's a little late for drinks tonight. You know, that whole people-expect-me-to-show-up-to-collect-a-paycheck thing starts again tomorrow. Raincheck?

Sure, but you could think of this as a learning experience. I've mastered the whole work-without-sleep-and-still-be-a-badass thing.

But, I'll accept rainchecks, I suppose. I'm in the market for a new drinking buddy. My last one left me cause he's a jerk. Hah.

I've done the whole work-without-sleep thing plenty of times.
Just not as much of a badass about it anymore.
