You'll have to avoid grease or you will get the worse stomach pains and the grossness that goes along with it. As my 8 year old son says "you'll pee out your butt".

As far as scarring goes, it shouldn't be too bad if they do it laproscopically (sp?). They took out my appendix back in October and I have 3 tiny scars, and one is hiding in my belly button. The good thing, they were able to avoid cutting through my tattoos! Woo-hoo!

Hope you feel better soon and have a quick recovery Misato!

One to stick someting down my throat and take out the stone blocking the duct, the other to take the gallbladder.

Cheers.
I got my gallbladder removed back in 2009, I think, ripe age of 18. I can totally eat any amount of crap I want, but I get heartburn pretty easily, unless I take a gastric protector beforehand. I keep heartburn chewing tabs handy, just in case. The surgery and associated pain and recovery are all minimal. Stitches are removed within a week. Should live a very slight scar (three, plus one in your bellybutton), that will slowly begin to disappear.

I'm not worried about the surgery or whatever scars I may or may not have. I'm covered in scars anyway from last summer. Poison ivy scars all over my legs and arms, and a nasty scar on my right shin from barnacles when I fell at the beach...my brothers like to fish a lot, and I'm not use to trying to keep up with them, so I got lotsa fun new scars. I think I kept up pretty well, though.

I also get acid reflux all the time anyway, so I always have pills on hand. I know the pancreas produces the same digestive acids the gallbladder does, so I'm not worried about what I can and can't eat either.

Thanks for all the input and stories and good wishes, though! ^_^

Girl Scout Cookies... My daughter sold 750 boxes last year, and has decided that this year she wants to sell 1,250 so she can go to Catalina. It's a week in, and I am already sick of cookie sales. Please let March 13th come quickly. I need a break!

I'm tired of my grandparents bringing home 5 crates of girl scout cookies every couple weeks and asking me if I want some! No grandpa, I don't want the cookies! Lol

It's good that they are helping her! Some of the girls in my troop have no help at all which is another rant entirely. Grrr...

A bit late, and everything seems already said, but...

I hope you will get better soon, Misato.
