Shaakh looks at Ilosep and absent-mindedly feels his own shoulders and neck.
"Another head? Another life? Ah... there is so much I do not yet know."
He bows his head and, shaking it, slides in before Ilosep.

(ooc: I thought if Tek was out of sight of the others the mindspeak wouldn't work, never mind, though I assume that means I can hear what Kikkik just said)
"I managed to hang onto the rock face, but what is happening, do you need some help?" Tek replied, he then started looking for a way back up the mountain.

(Um, Pie, what are you doing? What's all this about a squirrel and a river? You're in the Groff field, Resuso (a giant snake) just introduced himself to you, and there is no river nearby (there is a sea however) Please edit your post.)
Fleegle wrote:(For Pie)
The groff rustled as some kind of disturbance weaved its way toward Ithicus. An enormous serpent reared up from the groff, happening upon Ithicus and the dead monster.
"Oh, how wonderful! Another fantastic child of the Muck! Oh, but what's this rotten thing? It is not most wonderful... is this not the creature that was slain by Beelzebub? No matter, though it caused much harm and gorged itself on Anesek's precious gifts, what comes from the earth will go back again, and it will grow most wonderful things!"
The giant serpent paused. "How rude of me! I am Resuso, God of Food! And what do you go by, my wonderful friend?"

(For AoM and Razorlance. Razorlance, you don't need to have a line of sight to use mindspeak, you just have to be in the same general area. You are not really in another location, you're just on a ledge further down the mountainside, only about 10 metres or so.)
Ao tried to move the wizard's hand from the tin ball, but the wizard clenched his fist around it. Evidently it was very important to him.
As Tek surveyed the scene, he found a groove in the side of the mountain where he would be able to wedge himself and climb up the mountain. Unfortunately, it would lead him to a higher spot on the mountain path, and he would have to double back down the path to reach Ao and the wizard.

Tek started to climb back up a crevice he spotted and eventually made his way back to the mountain path. When he realised he was higher up the path and focused a limb back down the path he spotted Ao wrestling with the wizard. Damn, he's fighting back he thought. Then he spotted the device the wizard was holding earlier on the ground, he quickly flipped himself up onto two limbs and started cartwheeling down the path towards the device scooping it up as he abruptly stopped. "What is this Kikkik? can I use it to try and help Ao?"

Ilosep frowned at Deimos. "Hrmmpff. Some manners you have. I really don't see why such an abrupt approach is necessary. I don't take kindly to rudeness, you should know. I am Ilosep, God of Justice, if you must know, though I would have told you that anyway. I hand out the fates around here. If I had any say in the matter I'd kick you out of my temple in an instant. Fortunately for you, it is my sacred duty to assign special abilities to every creature that comes out of that Muck Pond, so you might as well stick around. Now if you'll excuse me, I must attend to Shaakh here, who I might add knows a thing or two about respect."
Ilosep puffed on his bone whistle. The room filled with haunting voices, though it was unclear where they were coming from. "Silence!" Ilosep commanded, the voices reluctantly obeying. "Shaakh, your fate has been decided. From this day forth, you shall have the ability of AstralMotive. You will be able to call the fires of heaven upon your enemies. You can only do this at night, under the open skies, and you may only do it once per night. That is all."
Ilosep turned his gaze onto Deimos. "Would you please step forward to accept your fate, Deimos."
(For Pie)
Resuso peered intently into Ithicus' eyes. "Anesek, she is the most wonderful God of Life. Without her there would be no need to have me around."
Resuso bobbed and weaved his head, giving Ithicus a quick inspection. "This field that surrounds you, it is full of what I like to call groff. It will taste like whatever your heart desires. Please, do give it a try. It is my gift to the wonderful creatures of this place."

From the safety of a nearby rock, Kikkik mindspoke to Tek. "I don't know how it works, but you saw what it did to the mountainside. I think it would be more useful for clearing the path ahead than dealing with that wizard. It seems Ao has the wizard at a disadvantage though, so I don't see why you would need it. Whatever you do, please be careful with it."
Upon examining the silver device, Tek noticed a collection of tiny switches and three metal buttons, each with a different figure etched into it. The button at the top had an arrow pointing up towards the business end of the thing. Another had an arrow pointing toward the user. Another looked to be a series of concentric circles with a dot in the center. The little switches had labels etched in beside them, though the language made no sense to Tek.
"Easy, big fella..." the wizard said nervously to Ao, his voice uneven and raspy. "Hows about we talk this through, huh?" He peered back over his shoulder, seeing that it was a long way down.

The wizard looked curiously at Ao as his body rumbled in earth speak. "I see you can't talk..." Apparently he didn't understand either form of Ao's communication. "Well, then, maybe you can still understand me. I say, how about you put me down... back on the pass that is. I promise, I'll leave you fellas alone. I was just curious you see... just wanted a closer look see... you startled me that's all."
"Oh... I'm gonna die." the wizard mumbled inaudibly.

Shaakh tries to follow the floating shapes with his head as they appear. He listens to catch pieces of their chatter, and gasps when Ilosep suddenly silences them.
After Ilosep announces his fate, Shaakh is stunned.
"I can do this? Well, for such a power, there must be a purpose! I must find it. I am sorry if I am delaying you, but I must ask... do you know of anywhere I can be of assistance? It is so vast outside, I do not even know where to begin."

Ao mutters to himself in earth-speak and then mindspeaks to Tek and Kikkik.
"I'm going to put him down, but keep him in arm's reach. Kikkik, I don't suppose you're capable of this wizard's speech? I need some way to communicate with him, and his mind is too weak to understand me."
Ao then turns back to the wizard and hefts him back onto the mountain path. He still keeps one powerful fist holding the wizard while his other hand points at the tin ball that the wizard is carrying. Ao wags his fingers in a way to suggest not using whatever magic is in this item. Ao doesn't take his eyes off of the wizard, and any hostile movement will earn this magic user a crash course in flying.

"Court is adjourned until further notice." Ilosep stated, then stepped down from his podium. The voices started to jabber quietly amongst themselves.
Ilosep stepped down from the podium and approached Shaakh.
"Since it seems our rude friend here is taking his time to get his fate, I'll help you out in the meantime. There are a few places you can go, where you might find some purpose. You could head south, into the hills. It's rather dangerous but you look like you might be able to handle yourself. Theres a long valley there that eventually leads to Lomba Mountain, but it's crawling with crazy wizards who prey on unsuspecting creatures to do their "experiments" on. If you were able to breathe underwater you could go into the ocean, just east of the Groff Fields, which is that big field to the east of the Pond. Since I presume you don't, you won't find much there besides a beach. To the north of the Groff Fields is a pathway that goes up through the forest. You can visit the lazy and cowardly Lesser God of Forest, Bassus, if you were so inclined, though he'll probably just waste your time. Or you can continue on out the other side of the forest where you'll find a village full of creatures we like to call Pink Ones. They're not very pleasant folks, but you'll find that they won't give you any trouble." Ilosep smirked as he mentioned this last piece of information.
"Past the village, you can either head north along the coast or go west into some brushland. The brushland leads into a desert but there is a small camp at the edge of it where nomads tend to gather. All in all they're not bad people, though they are an odd bunch. You might be able to find someone willing to take you across the desert. There might be some places where you could help out. If you choose to head north along the coast you'll hit more forest, but you can pass by that area if you keep on the beach. That forest has a few paths, but it's not a very friendly forest, if you know what I mean. Up past there, you'll find some grasslands, the odd camp or small village of various creatures. Oh! There is a small area where a forest used to stand. The Stump People live there. If you wanted to help someone out, I know they are always having injustices visited upon them. A real shame, has something to do with their small stature and their tendency to not fight back. Don't get too involved in their problems though, or else you'll be there forever."
Ilosep paused a moment while he thought. "Oh, and if you're thinking of exploring that cave near the Muck Pond, don't. It's nothing but trouble. Really."

Shaakh listens intently, trying to take everything in.
"The desert? Nomads? Perhaps I will travel that way. I suppose I will head to the Fields of Groff, then. Thank you, Ilosep, for everything." Shaakh gives his semblance of a smile and turns out of the Temple, towards the Muck Pond.
