Re: Thought or Rant of the day!!!
In my rural highschool, when I lived in South Carolina, we had a big cafeteria where we most of us ate but I usually skipped and spent most of my time in the library 'cause I hated it then, but when I moved to a much bigger school in North Carolina, almost no-one ate in the cafeteria during lunch. They spread out all over campus, eating in front of the band building, choir, or in their favorite teacher's classrooms. And I usually went to GSA meetings every Wednesday.
Alot of people either went off campus (seniors who could do so) or snuck off campus (everyone else). Which I did a bit as well.
It was a very relaxed atmosphere.

I was too cool to eat during lunch. I spent my lunch break hanging with the hoods in my high top pony tennis shoes, levi's and some concert tshirt, smoking pot and sleeping through study hall. I rarely got in trouble at school because I hung out with people older than me so all the good stuff I did began at 2:21pm when the old ford truck of my boyfriend showed up with Meatloaf on in the cassette player and him and that dam key ring that jingled when he walked.
Dam I havent thought about that in a long time. *sighs*

I always left the campus, walking as a sophmore, driving my junior year. It was a quick trip to find food that was equally as bad as what they served in the cafeteria. Didn't care much about staying healthy since I was going to live forever, but never till I was 30 (teenager logic, it seemed good at the time). Now its all regret at how naive I was...you pay for it. Oh Yeah, I lived till I was 30, now I am really living.

This is hilarious, I just noticed that all the forums are blocked on the school computer but not the main page, search or any of the topics. So basically I can read and post as long as it's in recent threads or I know what I'm searching for.

lol 25 and a half. I'm in vocational school. My classmates are mostly 17 to 18. I went to upper secondary school when I was 17, that lasted three years, then I went to community college for one year to study arts since I applied for translator training and didn't get in, then I went to a university of applied sciences to study software design for three years but I quit that since I had only gained less than half of the necessary credits and all the courses I would've needed to pass weren't available anymore.

Here in Hungary they've switched to the Bachelor/Master degrees system only recently. I managed to start and finish in the old system but it wasn't easy. You could never know what courses will be available next semester. And in the last year I had so few credits that I had to take all the courses I could. There were virtually no lingustic courses as I had already done those and no new ones were available, so I had to choose a lot of literary stuff. In one week I had to (i.e. should have) read half of Gone with the wind + two other shorter novels.
The rant of the day over. Abe out.

A restaurant cook, all though with my skills I'll be more likely to work in a café or a fast food joint. But maybe I'll get better with practice.

Don't underestimate yourself.

There is no rule that says I can't post as much I want. I asked my lawyer.

Cool! I love food (who doesn't?) as does my boyfriend. He currently works in a restaurant and wants to open his own someday, which I fully support. Free food and a menu I can help design? With family recipes? Oh yeah! Mostly, we like good southern cookin, although he's also preferential to northern food as well. I prefer everything fried. ^.^
If it's not fried, it's got to be sweet and lathered with chocolate. No nuts, thank you.
I've got family recipes that could put you in a coma (seriously, we call it "Phil's Coma Breakfast"), or a trance, make you cry, make you eat till you puke. My family's got the best fried-turkey dry rub...well, ever!
Mmm, and it's all seriously soooo good.
What kind of food/restaurant are you looking at specializing in? 4 stars? Old fashioned diners? Desserts? Meats?

Nothing like the system screwing over 3 years worth of students.

I haven't really thought about specializations all that much. At least occasionally I've been thinking low-carb could make a good business since there seems to be an increasing amount of people who want to have vegetables instead of potatoes, rice or pasta. Yet cooking vegetables is often done wrong or the ingredients are crappy.
