Okay....how about the name...Sester Gartaf? XD
My friend saw that in my Yahoo status message, and proceeded to make fun of the name, and last time I was at his house we would be sitting around, or doing random stuff, and one of us would say "Sester Gartaf" and the other one would be all "Oh, man..Sester...Gartaf.." And then we'd start laughing. And in a few minutes repeat the process.

This is an old thread. But my new Wife has a wacky sence of humour and plays with these charactors. Vera Cose-Vien, Patty Kake, Anita Favour and Tyrone Shoelaces. She is always giggling out loud when she plays.

I had a character who changed his name everytime he met a new person.

 He didn't even last a week.

I liked Tyrone Shoelaces above. The two that come to mind from those my chars have met are Rosemary Delights and Mascara Black.

I don't know if the character's long dead, but the funniest name I saw was Dirk Gently... not because it sounds like a soft core porn name, but because it would read like "You see Dirk Gently kill a deer using a longbow", or something to that effect.

Dirk Gently is a Douglas Adams character, if I'm not mistaken.

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, one of the lesser known of Adams's books.

Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion, which has nothing to do (alas) with Douglas Adams books.

Gah!

Douglas Adams is terribly tedious and boring...horrible reads. I hated them.
