Weird, my right elbow got achy a short time ago, and now parts of the arm feel numb. I wonder if I've just spent too much time on the computer.

That could be carpal tunnel syndrome. I bought a splint that keeps my wrist in a neutral position. I don't need it right now -- different setup, different ergonomic problems -- but when I used it, I would wear it when I slept as well as at the computer.

Oh yes, because that makes me feel SO much better.

See, my problem is that I hardly get on the computer. I get on Cantr from my PDA, so my thumbs get tired from hitting the "refresh" button all the time, until FINALLY I get activity, and then I fight to make sure I touch the RIGHT character (which would be the one with activity) the first time. Five minutes later...I realize that the ACTIVITY WAS COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT TO MY CHARACTER. ARRGH. And then I have to click out because if I don't then my battery will run out and then I'll have no way to order pizza.
Of course, now that I am on my PC, THERE'S NO ACTIVITY! And it's too late here to order pizza.

....And that is my random rant of the day. *nods*

I sure hope it isn't carpal tunnel syndrome, my mom has kept saying for a long while that I'll end up getting it if I keep this up. The numbness went away but I think it's coming back now. Could just be related to neck muscles being stiff.

Cantr has been pretty uneventful for me as well.

That guy's nails kinda creeped me out.

Seko, I have a bad habit of propping my head up with my left hand most of the day. It causes all those nerves that run through the elbow (which are more exposed/pressed on when I rest my head on my hand) to protest on occasion.

My symptoms were worse than what you describe, and I took care of it myself. (I guess it healed over time, with the help of the splint.) The problem is probably the way you hold the mouse. Your wrist should be straight. If you can rest your whole forearm on the desk, you won't have to bend the wrist. Otherwise, a splint is pretty cheap. Mine is made by Futuro, selling for under US$20.

Doing the thing on the video felt somewhat uncomfortable but there wasn't really numbness or tingling that I would notice.

On a whole 'nother topic, last night (or day actually, been a day sleeper for a few days) I had a dream that there was a glass of water and it started frothing and I was wondering how can it do that when it's just water, but it just kept hissing, and then I woke up and I guess I must've integrated the noise my fridge makes into my sleep. Then I slept some more.

Try to stretch your neck muscles often while you are on your computer. It seems a compression of nerves and vessels, due to the stiffness of your muscles, as someone pointed at before. Also, if the position of your arm is not right, you might be compressing them by your elbow.

My thought today: I got a new job, after a year and a half without any. And it's related to my profession. I can't believe it yet. There have been fourteen years since the last time I worked as that. I'm getting excited... and a bit nervous. Starting next monday.

I've been having severe headaches for the last 4 or 5 days in a row. The pain is only focused on the left-side of my head, and I don't even normally have headaches, but these seem to last almost all day, fading out for hours and then coming back for hours. I've been going to bed with them and getting up with them and they are making me very miserable. Anyone have any ideas about the possibilities of what could be causing this?

Does it light get it worse? Do you see "black spots"? If so, it's a migraine. I've been suffering them since I was a child. There are some things than can bring them up, but usually there is no reason. If it lasts too long, you should go to visit a doctor, there are some drugs that can help.

Nope......no black spots, and they don't get worse with light. I'm glad you told me that though, as I was never sure what the difference between a migraine and headaches was, other than severity level.
I have no idea why this is happening. I'm sure there are a million possibilities, but it's driving me crazy. How long do you think I should wait before seeing a doctor? I took 2 Excedrin's today, but they're not kicking in yet and I'm trying to finish my grad project...ugh....:(
